The key to Boltex’s success is our unique Fiberane technology—a custom-moulded, perfect-fit jacket that even outperforms stainless steel in certain circumstances.

The Product

Fiberane is a jointless, fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) finish for pipes, fittings, tanks and other industrial refrigeration and heating equipment. Among its advantages, Fiberane offers:

• Jointless construction to eliminate potential bacteria growth
• Low permeability to create a strong moisture barrier
• Vivid cast-in colors to ensure visibility
• Emissivity to prevent heat build-up on the surface
• Resistance to corrosive liquids and gases
• Continuous resistance to temperatures of 400°F and intermittent resistance to higher temperatures
• Lead lining to eliminate sound transmission and/or insulation lining for easy installation
• Flexibility and made-to-order sizes and shapes to allow complete customizability
• Varying thicknesses to withstand even the harshest conditions
• Translucency to provide visual access or removable sections to provide physical access

Fiberane jackets are incredibly durable and last anywhere from 20 to 30 years before replacement is required.

The Process

To create Fiberane’s perfect fit, the jacket is first fixed snugly around the insulation, and then all joints, cuts and openings are chemically welded with a glass mat and liquid resin application. This creates a bond between the welds and the jacket similar to that of welded metal, providing an air-tight, moisture-resistant, perfectly fitted seal.
